WHAT WE STAND FOR:

Our monthly lunches provide time and space for women to connect and walk away with useful tools, information and inspiration. There is a place for you at GBWF— whether you want to attend a gathering on a topic that interests you, build your personal or professional support network, or develop your leadership skills. We aspire to engage women across multiple spheres of their lives— including self-development and care, family, work & local community roles, and larger state, national and global issues.

Mercy Connections is the fiscal agent for the Greater Burlington Women’s Forum, providing fiscal oversight and tax-exempt status.

The Greater Burlington Women's Forum began as an idea over the summer of 2013 and has grown exponentially since. We held our first brown bag lunch in November 2013. We now regularly hold events in Contois Auditorium in City Hall with over 100 women attending.


Our initial stated goal was to host a gathering of women to deepen connections around our worlds of work, life, and family. Most months we get together on a weekday over a brown-bag lunch at noon to participate in a short presentation on issues that we care about, build our networks and have fun.  There are occasional evening events as well, including film screenings, sailing/paddleboarding/yoga on the waterfront at the Community Sailing Center, and fundraisers.

The three Co-Founders, Dawn Moskowitz, Carina Driscoll and Jessica Nordhaus, all share a passion for Burlington and for the promotion of women to leadership. Tiff Bluemle, now of Change the Story, formerly of Vermont Works for Women, has also been a great support in the founding of the Greater Burlington Women’s Forum.

The Leadership Team is a vibrant, friendly, dynamic group of women collaborating to organize our events.  New members are welcome.

 

Leadership Team meetings are...

  • On the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month

  • From 8:15 - 9:15am

  • At Mercy Connections, 255 S. Champlain St., Burlington
